I am still at sea. Last week I got the answer whilst at sea literally, on a boat going around the Skelligs in South West Ireland. I was on a boat trip around the harbour in Kinsale yesterday and I was optimistic that that would also do the trick. Alas not.

Ashore with a not so gentle assist from my solving buddy. I would have needed some serious power tools to dig out this meta by myself.
Brilliant power play here, Mike

I made it to shore (with a gentle nudge in the right direction—thanks for that)! This was a really fun one.

Having coffee with Isaac on the ship this morning. Completed the grid last night with daughter. Chased some rabbits. Now ready to juice up on the java and dig in for some more staring. (Gotta come up with the solution before they do. Need my fatherly bragging rights.)
And I thought I'd have my weekend free after the quick MGWCC solve yesterday....

Hello Isaac,
I will have a Cry Baby Cocktail please and keep em coming.
Mr. Shenk has forced me to curtsy and exit stage left; I'm crushed.

Hey, Isaac, we haven't hung out in a while! I'll have a sloe gin fizz and a bowl of pretzels, please. Keep the tab open.

With my usual lightning speed, figured out almost immediately to take a pass on this puzzle. Nuff said.

Sorry I missed the zoom. I'm next to nowhere on this thing, though I can think of several four-letter words. I've already said them aloud to my completed puzzle, but nothing happened.
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Wow! I've never been so lost. I've stared at the puzzle for 45 hours?

You'd think Isaac and I would have had a chance to have a deep heart to heart after spending so much time at his bar, but he's so damn busy with my fellow shipmates that I can barely get his attention to get my drink refilled. I may be looking at Week 2 of a bad streak.
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

welp, i still have hardly anything worked out IRT this week's puzzle. stage 1, phase 1, the spaceship is still under construction and 75% of the parts are trapped in supply-chain-issues-limbo indefinitely.
*but* in other news that's less of a bummer (theoretically... or, at least, hopefully...), my first attempt as a Rexword guest contributor went up this morning with my review of (obviously) the NYT Saturday crossword.
sooo for any readers of, or other guest writers for, RP: again, i just reaallllly can't stress enough the part about this being very much my first rodeo.
and, also, the other part, the one about how it could very well also be my last!!
thankfully, it looks so far like only one commenter has found me to be "out of control." so there's a promising head start to hold onto if i ever saw one!

If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.
(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Totally lost on the ship. Don’t even think I can find Isaac or the bar.
