"Onomatopoeia" by benchen71
Welcome to...
benchen71's Metas on a Tuesday (MOAT)
Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? Don't you just love how some sounds become words in their own right? I do. This puzzle is a tribute (of sorts!) to onomatopoeia. Hope you enjoy working towards the answer to the meta, which is a play.
PM me with your submissions or submit on Crosshare. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.
Onomatopoeia - Online Form
Onomatopoeia - PUZ
Onomatopoeia - PDF
Onomatopoeia - spreadsheet
Nudges are here.
The solution is here.

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

It took me a few tries, but I finally made it. And, yes, it was worth it! Well-played, Ben!

That moat didn’t stand a chance!
I needed to do some googling to complete the grid, but I’m
Not complaining. It was part of the fun.
Thanks, Ben!

All I can say is that between the MMMM and this puzzle there is something in the air this month. Not a play I had ever heard of (like the MMMM group). That said, thanks Ben for providing these.

Google is an excellent vehicle to help get across the Moat and to aide in ramming the Castle door.

Castle stormed. Tricky grid but wonderful metanism!

Loved the grid though I had to do some Googling. “Sounds like” I may not figure out the meta.

Had to ponder this for a while before I saw where Ben was going with it. But the moat is crossed.
At least I have heard of the play, unlike the MMMM musical act. Nice one, Ben.

Finally crossed the MOAT with a bit of encouragement. This was a clever meta except for the fact that my uncultured self had never heard of the play.

I think I might be in a meta rabbit hole and, based on comments, bombarding the submission mechanism with a bunch of plays I have heard probably won't help!

Hoo boy, this has been a tough week for me and the metas. That wooden structure over water that I traversed was more "plank" than "drawbridge".
Great puzzle, Ben!

Crossed the moat after a few missteps. Really enjoyed the grid. Needed to Google to get the meta.
Thanks, Ben!

Out of curiosity... After this is over, tell us *how* you googled the meta?

Needed a nudge, but crossed the MOAT… back to MMM and MEOW, and yikes! It’s WSJ time… no rest for this meta addict
