That cat in front isn't having it, haha.
---
The Winter Solvestice has now concluded, and I thank you all for playing! More prizes by random draw to be awarded throughout April and May!
Puzzle #90 answer: PERPENDICULARITY
Correct entries: 35, with maybe fewer than 10 on a solo solve.
@BrennerTJ with a graphic that's right on time!
Explanation: The four letters in the corner "L"s (N, D, U, and L) only appear once else in the grid. Move that two-by-two square so the other iteration of the letter occurs in the same position in the 2-by-2 corner. The new sixteen letters spell our meta answer PERPENDICULARITY, which does relate to right angles! (Easy to type that out quickly but perilously challenging to see).
---
We're looking at a Level 3 this time, and I have a slightly easier one (2/2.5) planned for two weeks from now.
---
91. You'll Turn It Around
The answer to the meta is a 2-word phrase you might say when you solve it.
Deadline is Saturday, April 20 at 1 pm ET.
Good luck, and may all your solves be beautiful!

Pun and done!
(Yes, that’s feeble. Mikey, you need to come up with a catchphrase for us to use when we solve a Pun of a Kind. I think it should be a pun.)

I kinda like "Pun & Done" --
And with its Mikey-centric vibe, it at least might help keep us from getting confused with couches, and hisssssing creatures, and navigating corners, and beams, and shores, and.....

As I've alluded to before, we all have Ted Shane to thank (or blame lol) for this. My dad avidly collected Dell crossword magazines in the 1970s and 1980s (I'd love to find some of those), and Ted Shane's "Crazy Crossword" often made an appearance. Here's an article from the 1980s by the late Maleska that goes into a bit of that.

^^ya know, I hadn't noticed but I think you are right! Very apt for this meta. (Wouldn't it be funny if that turns out to be the answer? - which means of course I still don't have a clue so it would be a completely inadvertent spoiler. And I actually did try submitting that just now, to make sure it WASN'T the answer before making this post and calling further attention to it...)

I'm trying to think if I submitted any meta at all in my 4-year history or so on a complete whim and have that work. Probably a few times!KayW wrote: ↑Sun Apr 14, 2024 5:35 pm ^^ya know, I hadn't noticed but I think you are right! Very apt for this meta. Only 18 so far, which makes me think this is starting to trend a bit toward Level 4. Early couple of nudges tomorrow if the Cubbies win!

WE DID IT IN EXTRA INNINGS. DID YOU SEE NICO HOERNER? KEEGAN THOMPSON IS ALSO BACK! WHAT A GAME.
Ahem. But you're here for the nudges, so let's start with a triplet (one for each run in our 3 - 2 victory!).
1.
2.
3.
4.
Okay, four nudges (I'm just extra excited).

Pun and done! Nudges helped immensely.
Check out "The MOAT Mini Pack of Marching Bands" here. US$5 gets you 7 Marching Bands which, hard enough on their own, now contain metas too. And once again there's a mega-meta!
