Welcome to...
benchen71's Metas on a Tuesday (MOAT)
Can you storm the castle by getting across the MOAT? I'm really hoping this one turns out to be fun; I certainly had fun putting it together! The answer to the meta is a 4-word phrase heard in the context of advice giving.
The easiest way to submit is on Crosshare (and you get instant feedback and unlimited attempts!) But you can also PM me with your submission. Either way, I'll compile a list of those who successfully solve the meta.
UMHO - Crosshare
UMHO - PUZ
UMHO - PDF
UMHO - spreadsheet
Nudges are here.
The solution is here.

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Crossed the moat and stormed the castle. Thanks Ben!
Shannon
PS: If you want help with a meta, PM what you have so I can help without spoiling too much. I've received lots of help in the beginning and I love to pay it forward!

MOAT crossed though I managed to trip over my own feet a couple of times first. Loved the way this was put together.

Moat crossed, castle stormed, advice given (but probably not taken). Thanks, Ben!

Okay... Grid solve meta parsed. Concept gotten. Now... to brainstorm.
EDIT: and oh, there it is. I sort of had to think around it a bit and it eluded me just a bit too long.
EDIT: To use the MOAT metaphor. I stormed the moat to the castle gates, pounding with my axes and hollered "I claim the castle in the name of the mighty woozy! Surrender all within her unto me!" to which a cry withing the gates came: "Entschuldigung, Sprechen Sie Deutsch?". To which I drew out my German/English dictionary and after a fifteen minute parley (in which I maybe declared myself to be a strawberry) we reached an agreement and they let me in and we had tea.

My Entry to the May 2024 CrossHare Midi Contest
Not a meta, but, yeesh!, that was tough to create.

Clever as can be, in my humble opinion. ( :
Crossed and stormed, and I advise you to give this a try!

MOATored across a fun puzzle. There is an Aussieism or two, but hey, how else do you learn. Why, if I ever go "to the land down under" they won't be able to tell me from a native!! I can hear them now; "He's a right bonzer seppo he is!"

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!
