Ashore, after being delayed by what must have been a deliberate distraction from Mr. Gaffney. Clever puzzle.

On shore. I, too, was a bit bothered by the inconsistency, but now I see that it is not an inconsistency at all!

I am still astonished at how quickly you solved the MEANDER puzzle: You were on Page 1 and I was an utter fail!

And then I didn’t get the MGWCC week 2. Brains are weird.

I think I might have it? I'm not 100% sure though. It's technically a 5 letter word, but I'm not sold on it being THE word

Well OK, got it but only after some calisthenics. I made several failed attempts before I saw what MIGHT be the mechanism, but that did not seem to pan out ....or DID it! Turns out it did when I finally extricated myself from a particularly attractive rabbit hole/domain of a scarlet fish that was sitting there waiting for me to screw up. Actually by the point I got there I had pretty much decided what the word would be and it did make sense so I sent it in then went back to nail it down 100%.

As usual a nice puzzle and indeed as someone else has said, one that would have befuddled me for a whole week in the past. I truly don't know if I am getting better or luckier because I tried a number of very odd approaches (and if you know me you are going "Uh Huh" right now) and then went back to the Occam's thing and did an "If I were Matt or Mike what would they be thinking?"

Count me ashore Bob and call the golf cart with the drinks, I sense they will be VERY busy this week.

NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

On shore. Amazing how fast you can go from no rabbit holes to solved when the right idea strikes.

Most call that the "AHA!" moment, of course. I prefer to think of it as my "DOY!" moment.
