Saw the mechanism immediately, but this math major needed to do some googling and then it was a very quick swim ashore. Sadly the math degree didn’t come in handy for ADDing to 1000 either!

(Lol)
Don't get me started on Shakespeare lines usually both misquoted and misunderstood--or I'll bring out Falstaff on discretion and Gertrude on protesting too much.

These puzzles--and this forum--have been a sUBStantial source of enjoyment these past 52 weeks (and 51 birds)! The occasional anGUish from an unsolved meta is more than compensated for by the goodwiLL of everyone here. Thank you!

If we were still having yesterday's weather, then I would ask for a summer shandy at the tiki bar; however, today's weather dictates a dark and stormy.
And after 51 birds, you finally stumped me with one I had not heard of before. But seeing the range of it, I am not surprised

On shore! I’d like to think this gave me inspiration for the quick solve, as it was looking over my shoulder while I worked the grid

Said to have been penned by the Bard himself, and sited at his burial spot. Here it is sited on the wall of my garden house, along with other well loved memorabilia.

On shore! Maybe some Bailey's in my coffee this morning.
On vacation in Las Vegas last week, took half a day to find a WSJ to purchase (i do my puzzle old-style...hard copy). After that, i was unsuccessful in getting the meta, and also in being able to get to this forum. when back at home, I see i missed the fund-drive because other generous souls were there first. Thank-you, but I'm ready if any emergency requirements arise.

Solved and on shore!

I got to this late last night and solved relatively quickly. I did manage to let myself be distracted by the "Jeffrey"s Jottings" puzzle of 3/1/2021 and his fill, "HAMLETSOFF STEAM", for a few minutes.

I proved that it would have been difficult, if not impossible, to solve by reading the soliloquy over and over. I would never have solved this without the internet. I don't have any Shakespeare literature in the house.

There's at least one really nice Easter egg in this one. Hope everyone saw it.
Hmm - have to keep an eye out for it...

On shore. Literally and figuratively with a nice spring break trip to a relatively deserted beach that is much less crowded than our muggle beach.

Nice to be back after our miss last week.
