Hopelessly lost at sea, exhausted, and sad to have broken a 19 week streak

Will do, Bob. I’ve got a zinger ready to put a smile on our dear Mike Miller’s face.

Still at the bar regaling Isaac with stories from my college days as an applied math major. Boy, have I been humbled by this one.

On shore, thanks to a hit on the head with the gangplank!

Sigh. Started today so didn’t get to sleep on it, and it’s costing me. Stuck on the boat and 2021 streak is broken. I would welcome a quick nudge if anyone is still up and inclined... otherwise I will look forward to seeing the answer.

On shore, after finally taking a look at the meta after completing the grid Friday morning.

Bird Lives wrote: Sat Mar 27, 2021 10:41 am I used to have a folder of these but rarely looked at it. So I scanned them all to pdf and threw out the paper copies. But I've never looked at those old pdf files. Now I do puzzles in .puz format. For highlighting, I copy the grid to Paint. I haven't looked at those either once they're more than a week old an nobody's talking about them. As Satchel Paige said, "Don't look back, there'll be another puzzle next week."
I take the .pdf of the puzzle from WSJ.com and put it into an iPad Notepad app. Then I do the puzzle on the WSJ iPad app, screenshot the finished grid, and put that in the Notepad as well. There I can use multicolored highlighters, and draw circles and arrows (with a paragraph on the back of each one... oh, no, that's the song). It's easy to duplicate the grid or .pdf and start a new rabbit hole of highlighting. It's really good for showing people visually interesting ones like "King Me!"
I think a lot of muggles would love to know how to do that. Would you mind posting a tutorial?
Per request, I have posted a tutorial in the FAQs - Community/Solving Resources Suggestion for using an iPad app to solve Metas

With a helpful nudge, I'm on shore. My tab with the completed puzzle had been closed out when I reopened my browser. When I went back to the puzzle, the "submit" tab was missing and a pop up telling me I had completed the puzzle correctly. Glad email was an option!

Probably too late to make the final roll call, but for the record, Marion and I did finally make the shore!! She did all the rowing and I played the sea anchor in Oscar style - no help!

It doesn't look like I'm going to make it this week. Kudos to those on shore. I got the grid, and I think I have the theme answers, but the subsequent rabbit holes I traveled down became progressively more convoluted and nonsensical, making me feel more than a little bit like Carroll's Alice.

Good Pesach to some, a blessed Holy Week to others, good will and best wishes to all.

Yes Al. Lots of us on the ship. I’ve given up and am waiting patiently for the answer and then calling it a night. Isaac has been a trooper.

Have I missed the boat at this late hour? This week overall seems like one of two steps forward three steps back - but I think I'm on the shore after a helpful nudge.

Well at least let's head out to sea... see how long those shorebirds can last without food. Ha!
