Sent a submission that I'm fairly confident in.
Update: Beam me up. (Full disclosure: this was a group solve, and I marked it as such. I'd say there's only a 50% chance that I would have gotten it on my own.)

I believe I have it, but wish just ONE more thing would be true for the slam dunk. Hmm.. to submit or not to submit...
Sat am UPDATE: yes indeed I did have it! Despite the somewhat anticlimactic arrival at the answer, the journey was very entertaining! Love the mechanism. BEAM ME UP!

Ahem. Apparently my 37th rabbit hole was legitimate. Wow. Probably in my top five since I became a muggle, which was months before I realized it.
