On a very positive note, we welcome all our new muggles to the clan. We have architeuthidae (which after googling is a squid), sib235, jakenherman, Nicolas, matty_p, and seahawks seashanty.

I'm

STILL ON THE SHIP

but that's OK -- I see lots of my pals with me --

Do you ever get the feeling that you might be being manipulated? :D

Happily you missed me in the list of the shipbound (#167), but even more happily I am now on shore. After wasting lots of time yesterday futilely googling, the mechanism revealed itself to me after I had gone to bed. Next week I will just go straight to bed after finishing the grid...
I knew you were going to get there and had you on the beach already.

Ashore after a pleasant but not so easy swim. Just right. I have not seen any reference in this thread to the "careful!" admonition. (But I could have missed it.) Because of it, I spent a while double checking to see if I was going down the wrong path but finally concluded I was not--and now I'm wondering why I needed to be careful at all. Perhaps someone wiser than I can illuminate after the answer is published (which will be Monday night this week).

My quickest journey to shore yet and no nudges! Very clever and lots of fun. Hope everyone enjoys the long weekend! Dry January is killing me but will celebrate this one on Feb. 1.....

This one is eluding me but I refuse to give up. I keep staring at it, but may now try the walk away approach.

Hope the walk away approach worked for you. I tried that earlier. I’m trying it again now. I did have fun remembering some animated movies that I saw with my kids when they were little.

On the ship. I look at this thing every few hours, trying to see it anew every time. So I'm just going to relax now with a St. Arnold's Low Dose IPA. Maybe two and see if I can drift off to an unblocked vantage point.

There are enough of us on the ship to pool our ideas and figure this out. SIL and I have tried everything! Well obviously not EVERYTHING. But I know you feel my pain.

Just a quick note to everyone. The WSJ will not be published Monday Martin Luther King Day. The solution will be in Tuesday's paper so I suspect it will not be on line Monday. So if you don't hear first thing Monday morning that you won the mug, do not dispare.

Ashore, but only after trudging through the labyrinths of the rabbit warren. I now know more about animated movies than I ever cared to . . . . Great collaboration with the Director. Celebrating with a Rowan's Creek (Bardstown, KY small batch).

I believe I am ashore. While this is still all new to me, I think the route to the answer on this one was very different in a number of ways for me. But then again, I could have said the same thing about many preceding metas. Onward!
