Buck Up

York Harbor Sea Temperature
(Today) 22nd Dec 2020
6.6°C / 43.8°F
Yeah, I was going to say that the gulf low of 62F was still higher than New Hampshire's coast (What little there is) in the peak of summer.

Hampton Beach this past February...

I will be in York next Mon/Tues/Wed to try to get the moon rising over nubble light. You have to be on Long Sands Beach almost at Libby's with a long lens (600 or so) to get the angle right. (and dressed like you are in the picture)
600 sounds about right. Unfortunately, I've never been there for sunrise nor moonrise. Good luck getting the picture!

If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

4°C = 39.2°F
34.5°F ≈ 1.5°C

Either way, that's wicked cold.

Was I the only one that didn't know the contest was coming out early this week? In any event, I'm happy to be on shore with all the rest. My holiday will be (almost) entirely virtual this year. All of your company is most welcome! Good cheer to you all.
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Ashore, after a few nudges.

I have thoughts and feelings about this puzzle which I will certainly forget to mention come Monday. Until then, Merry Christmas and Happy Kwanzaa.

Oops. Yes. I meant the latter. Was looking at two different days.

Just a quick note--for those who do the MGWCC, the puzzle will come out tomorrow on Christmas Day. A gift from Matt to all of us. May all your Christmases be white and may all your answers be right.

A nice "present"! I am ashore with the rest, getting ready to celebrate. It's the first Christmas with my new (to me) cat!

On shore!

So this one published yesterday (Wednesday)? I just got to it now (Thursday between 2 and 3 pm). If any of you have been bopping around elsewhere in the world of metas today, you're going to find quite a coincidence. Nothing untoward, I'm sure. And as I think about it, it may even be a predictable coincidence. If you're interested enough, see if you can find it. (Ah, a meta of sorts within the meta comments!)

Best holidays to all!

forecast for St. Louis MO tonight:

10 F which is about -12 C.

Damn, that's cold for here. What's the freezing temp for alcohol? I might need to put some "de-icer" in my circulatory system.
