FWIW, PGW corrected the clue for 80D so that it now reads “Hard water?”
I was wondering whether "No Clue" was an error to be taken literally.
In other news, I haven't sniffed the meta yet but I have plenty of free time today.

Got it, I believe. Saw the other thing—100% now. I really enjoy Peter’s puzzles—now if only there was a mug
We'd have much better odds of winning if PGW gave a prize! PGW stickers would be cheap to mail.....
Then what would solvers be called... STICKLERS?

Just found the mechanism for the other half. Done and submitted.

He does pop on the forum from time to time... and our "on shore/beam me up/off the couch.." could be "stuck the landing..." (i was gonna say "stuck it," but that could go so wrong so quickly).

I like “stuck the landing”. It means a perfect finish which makes more sense than the other phrases.

Hmm, I just submitted an answer including this commentary: "90% confident in [one word], 100% confident in [other word]." I guess I'll take another look for the 100% click.
Big thanks to Laura M for reading my seven crackpot theories via PM and telling me which two were worth pursuing!
Update: 10 minutes later, I figured out the 100% click. Love it.
