Episode #254 Contest: "Spicy!"

Hello, solvers! There's a new contest crossword on Fill Me In. I'll rate this one 1.9 bananas on a scale of 5 bananas. (Bananas has nothing to do with the puzzle, it's just a 1-to-5 scale we made up.)
The puzzle is called "Spicy!" The solution to the puzzle is a seven-letter word.
The crossword can be downloaded from here. You're welcome to solve, you're even welcome to join in the chatter about the puzzle -- but if you want to be eligible for a prize, you have to listen to the podcast for this week's password.

It's a different media - Microsoft Excel - for solving puzzles & metas. It has
advantages over paper, PUZ, & other methods in that building lists, highlighting, erasing, & exploring multiple methods can be easily done. A number of muggles use the spreadsheets.
I try to post a link to blank Excel forms for puzzles on xwords-muggles.com, if they are not subscription-based. I apologize for not having kept up with your puzzles (and others'), but have only recently realized that I can create the PDF for puzzles from PUZ files.
If you don't want me to post links to your puzzles, please let me know!

My husband named that tune in one note. Seriously, I read him the title and the first theme answer and he immediately knew what to do!
