What song in 3/4 time is hinted at by this puzzle?

Yes!! The last step was not immediately obvious (to me). Very nice construction.

On shore, or off the coach, or whatever we say here. Fun puzzle, even better while playing it. Popular title-didn’t Matt have a similar one at the end of May?

Good one!

Patrick Berry is quite the puzzle-maker, isn't he? When I see his name on a puzzle, I know I'll enjoy.

I just subscribed to Fireball an hour ago, since you all have been raving about it for so long.

What a great puzzle! Patrick Berry never disappoints.

Wasn't there another three/four time puzzle not so long ago?

Got the initial steps yesterday but didn't know what to do about it. Went out for Blues and beers, and the final step fell into place this morning using one mechanism I hadn't tried last night. Outstanding construction from Mr. Berry.

So, I've got all of the pieces to the puzzle, but is there a more elegant way, other than brute force, to come to the solution?

Not to answer directly, but you don't see any solvers complaining about inelegance above.

Exactly. It's pretty straightforward (as I found out eventually), which makes it -- given all that's going on -- unbelievably elegant.
