Solved. I can’t be the first solver, something is wrong with this picture. Ah, now I’m thinking I may have missed something. I am going to wait to submit and cogitate a little.

Glad I waited. My initial answer was wrong but I finally figured out the right one.

I had to request to be clobbered over the head. Then the answer showed up. One of Peter's trickier metas in my opinion. Well, if you have to be clobbered, it must be really tricky.

Really enjoyed this one; the aha was well worth all the wrong approaches.

Well, I got it, but only by getting two pretty big nudges. I won’t submit because I wouldn’t want to get a prize (is there one? I can’t remember) without being a true solver.
I’d have liked this puzzle better if I hadn’t needed the help. It’s a pretty cool meta, I think.

I don't think PGW has a prize. I didn't even know you could submit anywhere.ChrisKochmanski wrote: ↑Wed May 27, 2020 9:19 pm Well, I got it, but only by getting two pretty big nudges. I won’t submit because I wouldn’t want to get a prize (is there one? I can’t remember) without being a true solver.

Yes, Peter will aways include a "contact" link with which to submit. Here it is, cut and pasted (so no actual link on the word "contact"), from this week's puzzle posting:camandsampowercouple wrote: ↑Fri May 29, 2020 1:01 amI don't think PGW has a prize. I'm feeling like I should amend my previous note ...
I'd have liked the EXPERIENCE of this puzzle better, if I hadn't needed the help. In fact, I'm kicking myself for not getting to the solution all on my own. The mechanism is a particularly clever one, and I wish I'd seen it. That would have made for a very nice aha indeed. I'm envious of those who got there by their lonesomes.
