It is squeezy to add pictures to your post as long as you have them on your computer.

1. Access the Full Editor
First, you have to be in "Full Editor" as opposed to "Quick Reply." Quick Reply is the space at the bottom of a thread that allows you to make a post without leaving the page. You can access the Full Editor by clicking the "Post Reply" button on any thread or the "Full Editor & Preview" button at the bottom of the Quick Reply space:



2. Open the Attachments tab
Click on the word "Attachments" underneath the space where you enter your post.



3. Click "Add files" to upload your pictures
This will enable you to upload pictures from your computer or your phone. Phone pictures may be too big. If this is he case, see the third bullet under Section 5, below.


After you upload, you will now see your pictures listed as files in the Attachments tab.



4. Add pictures to post
Place your cursor at the point in your text where you want the picture to appear, and press the "Place inline" button (shown above). This will add an instruction that the computer understands (called "BBCode") to display the picture in this spot. It will look something like this, where "attached_files.png" would be the filename of your picture:



5. A few things to remember

• Use the Preview feature to see how your picture will look when posted, but don't forget to push Submit to post.
• If you save a post as a draft, the attachments will not save! So add them last if you think you may not finish drafting your post in one sitting.
• You may need to play around with the size of your image to get it to display nicely. See the FAQ on how to change the size of a picture. The same instructions apply, but the size limits that apply to avatars do not apply to picures posted in threads.

Feel free to use this thread if you want to experiment with adding pictures.

Saving a picture as a GIF will reduce its file size versus other formats.

The instructions listed above work for posting photos that are on your local device. If you want to post a photo that you found on the web, you can post it using an image tag link. Position your cursor to the place in your post where you would like the image to display. Clicking on the orange "Insert image" icon at the top of the post dialogue box will insert IMG tags into your post:
Then paste the url of your image within the IMG tags: And the image should display:

Pros and cons of posting images that you find on the web vs. uploading them from your computer:

• Images posted from the web will continue to display in quoted replies
• It's easier to resize images uploaded from your computer
