Fuzzy Forecast

Ahoy, Muggles!
It's a big mid-winter holiday today! That's right, it's my wife Erin's birthday, and I and my family in central Pennsylvania can't wait to celebrate it with her! And speaking of mid-winter holidays in central Pennsylvania, it's also
Groundhog Day - the day that will determine how much more cold weather we get to enjoy. Interestingly, my birthday is
exactly 6 weeks after Erin's, so I guess you can say we're a couple of Groundhog Day bookends.

I'd like to thank
@boharr,
@Wendy Walker,
@ajk, and
@Joe Ross for testing and technical help.
The meta answer is a 6-letter word.
