Meg wrote: Thu Feb 20, 2020 4:24 pm It’s not often that I get the meta after completing one quarter of the grid..... A Rows Garden by Patrick Berry can take me hours. Some of his variety puzzles are hard! This meta, not so much.
I'm busy with work and haven't started writing on the grid, but I'm pretty sure I'm on shore with the help of your post and solving some of the grid in my head.
Eric, I hope my post wasn’t a spoiler!!
I've now finished the grid and submitted. Your post wasn't a spoiler, but it gave me the confidence to post that I was on shore before I was sure.

I need to be more careful about spoilers though. Last week I had a post removed for saying that if you had the answer and didn't submit you were a word coward.
I hope the admins let this post through now that last week's contest is over.

Love the avatar
I think I like YOURS, too -- but... what the heck is it?
Periodically I do some high speed photography. This is a drop of food coloring hitting the surface of a glass of milk. The red ball at the top is most of the drop of food coloring bouncing off the surface of the milk. It loses some of its volume in the process which is the column below it. The flash time was about 50 microseconds.

I have some of a pellet from a pellet gun hitting a balloon or an egg. I would like to stop a bullet but I would have to get a submicrosecond flash which goes for about $1000.
Hey Bob, I’m going to speak only for myself here but if you’d like to post more in the off topic section about your photography I’d be happy to see it.

Safely on the shore and lounging at the tiki bar. It's morning here, so I'm sticking with coffee for the moment.

I don't know that I'd call it easy. It's a 110-percenter, though, if that's possible.

This is not a game I know, which I guess could be said about every game except perhaps ring-a-levio and strip poker. But I have heard of it and thus find myself on shore.

I drink and I see things.

I mostly did the grid, and then the wife got the meta in less than 15 minutes and English isn't even her first language. Yay Natasha! Cute meta. And now we can concentrate on selling Girl Scout Cookies all weekend.

To all a good weekend, and a good weekend to all.
Once again, I think I'm overthinking it. Note to self: Stop doing this. You don't always need Evel Knievel's motorcycle to get over the initial hurdle. Putting it down for now for my usual Thursday agenda: Pre-trivia Guinnesses --> Trivia --> Post-trivia Guinnesses. Save me a spot on the beach,

pals!!
Take your time Al. I had to stop myself from submitting a bad guess.

Screw it, I have a good guess and I need to get more sleep.

If I'm correct, it's my older daughter's favorite game and she & I have played it very competitively together.

On the beach.

EDIT: see post #76

Wow! What a construction! We are confident in our answer. Ashore (and the right shore for a change!). (also had an alternate for 52A that Rita made me alter!)

Smithwick's. Yum!

A favorite pub stopped carrying it on draught when production moved to Dublin. Haven't found a place nearby that does, but it's fun searching.

On shore! Now I have all weekend to watch golf and avoid my wife’s honey-do list (famous last words). I’ll take a Breckenridge Brewery Irish Nitro Stout, please, Isaac.
