None Shall Sleep (PCC#30)

Post by pchow13 »

Hi everyone!

It's Phil from over at Phil's Crossword Corner (PCC) ... I'm happy to present this week's MMM "None Shall Sleep"

Prompt: The answer to the meta is 7 letters long.

Notes:
  • You may ignore the "PCC#30" in the subject/title as it doesn't have anything to do with the meta... it's just a numbering system for myself.
  • the level is the intended difficulty I had in mind when I designed the puzzle, but may play differently since every solver has their own area of expertise... what one person may find easy, another may find difficult.
Many thanks to FrankieHeck and Abide for test-solving and suggestions for improvement. Shout-out to Joe Ross as always for technical help.

Have fun and keep in mind if you're ever lost at sea, google is your best friend (actually, I don't know if you'd get internet service in the middle of the ocean).
-Phil

Please submit your answer for this meta via Crosshare using the link below or by sending me a PM.
Nudges will be posted on Wednesday. Solution shall be revealed Sunday morning.

Edit: The clue for 29-Down has been revised to remove "Mac" from the clue in the Crosshare version of the puzzle (might be confusing as Mac keyboards have an "Option" key instead of an "Alt" key)... Note this does NOT affect the meta. Thanks to boharr for pointing it out.

OTC - and having just returned from across the pond, I disagree: THIS one can sleep. But loved this, a really terrific idea and construction… kudos!

When Phil asked me to test solve this for PCC, I liked it so much I asked him to consider running the puzzle as a MMM. Very glad that Phil let us appropriate this one!

Off the couch! Very nice, indeed!! :D
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!
