A leisurely solve provided by Frazier Simpson. This is a great beginners puzzle.

I like how Mike Shenk is calling on different constructors for the monthly variety cryptic. Keeps it fresh
If I’ve solved and you need a nudge, you can PM me. Happy to pay it forward.

Patrick Berry last week. I predict Bob Stigger will make an appearance at some point. Easy puzzle this week.

This one was a satisfying solve and didn't take a whole lot of time. I got the middle answer and top-to-bottom answer before completing the rest of the puzzle.

In case any constructors read this blog, I’m just going to reiterate my wish for straight cryptics — which are inherently twisted enough — rather than meta cryptics, which particularly in this case are nearly indecipherable.

Solved! But had to back into a few answers that I still don't get -- looking forward to the answer key tomorrow.

Here's how I decided to initiate Frasier Simpson.
