Puzzle #100: Stepping Down
  • Difficulty: Medium
  • The answer to this week's meta is a 4-word phrase.
  • No Googling here. I wouldn't do that to you on the last one!
The deadline for this puzzle is 9:00am eastern time on Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Sad to post the thread for the Pandora's Blocks finale. It's been a fantastic run of puzzles and I hope to see more of Will in the future!

Going out in a blaze of glory! Very well done!
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Wonderful coda!

I appreciated the absence of 🧬 DNA 😜. I didn’t see a mention to the name connection so here’s a link for us science challenged folks https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosalind_Franklin

I’ll say, “Hey, I remember that guy’s terrific meta puzzles” when I read someday of Will’s Nobel Prize.

I hope you consider being a guest puzzler for SSS, MMM, MEOW, and others.

As soon as I noticed BASEPAIRS across the middle, I knew ROSALIND was going to be the answer. Will mentioned several people submitted GENE, which was a good guess. If only it had been a @MikeyG puzzle, that would've been the answer.

For his final puzzle I was the first solver (if I'm reading Crosshare right).

Great puzzle and thanks for all the ones you've created, Will!

For last week's, I knew it had to be something with base pairs and swapping them but didn't put in enough effort.

Dino me! Lovely way to bow out!! Thanks for all of the fun!!!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!
