I liked the mechanism, but the grid was a very unenjoyable solve.

Beamed up - nice to have a week 2 that I don't have to puzzle over for several days!

Awaiting the beam... [Tricky grid with a fun meta mechanism!]

... and I'm beamed at #176! :D

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

It's been a very challenging week for boring reasons, so this was the exact level of challenge I needed. I expect to be beamed aboard soon. And then I'm going to bed. It's 5:45.
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

After solving the meta I had to back solve some of the grid.

Two meaty grids: this and WSJ! Took a while, and then I oddly didn't grok any of the mechanism while solving. Oh well! Beamed at #19.

Something small actually distracted me, and I pondered about it a bit. I'll let you know after the deadline!

Hmm. I found the grid challenging but in the good way. Lots of trickiness but not many unknown proper names. Saw what was going on with the meta while filling the grid. Fun idea!
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Enjoyable solve, but a bit frustrating because I wasn't able to solve the meta in my head. (My usual Saturday morning run/lawnmowing ritual...)
Got the mechanism, but had to rely on Dr. Google for the particulars.

Submitted.

As with others, grid was tough! But I liked the meta. Did need to play DuckDuckGo for a few pieces. (I know, it's easier to say I "Googled" it, or "asked Mr. G." But don't. Maybe I could Ask Jeeves?)

Edit: Beamed up!
