Ashore, with a little backfill and a confirmation from @ship4u! A couple of deep rabbit holes for me this week. Glad I finally saw the light!

Special props to @clonefitz for his brilliant and hilarious music video unveiling!
I created a new topic in the Acapulco lounge. viewtopic.php?t=2744

Will post video once it is complete. But for now the lyrics are there.

Sigh... after a few delightfully slight nudges from @BarbaraK, I am finally ashore. I had seen hints of the actual mechanic but hadn't looked at them thoroughly enough. Thanks for the suggestions to look closer!

For the record, Maggie and I are still keeping Isaac company. Maggie, in true bulldog fashion, is more interested in begging snacks than meta solving.

Too early to seek assistance. I'll move this from paper to spreadsheet to see if I can spot what has been hidden from my mind's eye.
Good luck to all for a successful solve. If you see that I'm ashore - rare occasion of late - message me if you'd like a nudge. Be sure to include your progress so I can know better how to assist.

Ashore at last! I actually started down the correct solving path on Thursday afternoon, but abandoned that metanism when I came up with gibberish. I'm blaming it on the meds I've been taking after out-patient surgery on Wednesday. Yeh, yeh - that's the ticket. It's the meds, not me!

Quick solve by my standards. It went, hmm, interesting, oh, yeah, has to be. But wait, it's. . . Oh, you sneaky devil! Aha!

Happily ashore. Celebrated before the fact with some Glenlivet 15, hence the delay in solving. . .

Ashore, after giving up and then coming back to it. Unfortunately, I was under the weather for a couple of days and threw in the towel. Feeling much better today, I celebrated by giving the puzzle another look. It’s a truly different mechanism, although classic in certain ways. Different but classic – hats off to Matt for bringing us such a clever twist on things. Also, a lesson relearned: There may be multiple paths to solving a given meta, but giving up isn’t one of them. Even if we conclude we’re lost, our brain can continue solving in the background, and we’ll never know what it came up with if we don’t come back to it for another look.
