Puzzle #82 answer: MILWAUKEE BUCKS

Correct entries: 71 - nice!!

Image

A slam dunk for @BrennerTJ!

Explanation: The four clues to the NBA teams give us BULLS, HAWKS, KINGS, and ROCKETS. Per the clue for CITY, we take their cities' initial letters (Chicago, Atlanta, Sacramento, Houston) to get CASH, the fifth and final clue for our final NBA team: the MILWAUKEE BUCKS, the answer to the meta! (Wanted to get it to MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES for my initials but no dice!)

---

We'll see how this one goes - I'm thinking Level 3 at the least, and if your mileage varies, it might push up to a Level 3.5. Shout-out to @oldjudge for test-solving and feedback!

---

83. Addition Reactions

The answer to the meta is how chemists might describe their work.

Deadline is Saturday, February 17 at 1 pm ET.

Good luck, and may all your solves be beautiful!

Mikey G

If its what I think I have to do there is no way anyone can think it's solvable, much less that two people actually solving it. So it must not be what I think it is.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

We're at 7 at the leaderboard in about 4 hours, which does signal about a Level 3.5, at least. (Likely nudges on this one starting around Tuesday or so).

This was a lovely distraction from hitting my head against the as-yet impenetrable Gaffney!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Not a clue so far. This seems way tougher than the Gaffney week 2...

Wheeee! I'm one for three so far this weekend.
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Omagosh that was cute! (Punny indeed.). Took way too long because of the very reason I’d make a terrible chemist: my haste and imprecision.

Well I thought I knew what I was doing, turns out, not so.

This is my life story.

Still a bit stuck on the MEOW! Have the first step - will noodle more later!

24 so far - nice!

I had the last step of the MEOW first. Took me a while to find the first and second.

For this Pun of a Kind, I think I have the steps 5 through 12 and 14 to 17.

Wonderful. It combines two of MikeyG's favorite things. Only the Cubs are missing.
