Musical Meta #1: "When and Where?"

Post by dannykbernstein »

Hi friends!

Presenting: my first meta! I'm a pianist/musical theater composer in NYC, so I'd been cooking up the idea of doing a little musical meta series. Granted: this is my first, so I'm not entirely sure of the difficulty level - I'd absolutely love feedback!

Thanks for sharing this! I like the concept. As a solver I found the grid to be more challenging than the meta, but it was fun and satisfying to complete. I've never constructed a crossword myself so I can't offer much advice in that area, but I enjoyed solving it!

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Excellent debut! I probably know more musical theatre than the average bear, but obviously less than a musical theatre composer, soo.... I had to resort to some searching for this one. I did see the metanism, but I missed an important part. Looking at the explanation, it all fits -- I just missed it. :/

Terrific debut. Clever and original clueing. And music baffles me. Lol. I posted a longer comment on Crosshare. Thank you.

Congratulations on your first forum meta! Very clever and well put together.
I had to work for the answer as I'm not very informed on the topic, but I got there finally.
Thanks, Danny!

Very nice! Fun!
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

A lttle flummoxed until I Wiki'd the winners list. Nicely done!
