Got it thanks to the Zoom call. Was on the wrong path like a few others.

Ashore.

Took me longer than it should. My kids kept saying, "You're overthinking it dad."

Having a dusty Sicilian wine. Frankly, it's a bit too dusty for my tastes. Oh well. Bottoms up!

My son made almost the same exact comment after we were done.

On the beach.
As mentioned above, this was one of those types for which paying meta dues over the years probably pays off.

Ashore and hoping those who solve WSJ throughout the week appreciated this past Tuesday's puzzle. The clues to 25A and 50D seemed like obvious nods to last week's Meta. I'm convinced Mike often continues to drop hints for days to come.

Thanks to a nudge from @Joe, I am swimming toward shore. Still fighting some strong currents. This will have to be Saturday solve. Ugh!
Good luck to all for a successful solve. If you see that I'm ashore - rare occasion of late - message me if you'd like a nudge. Be sure to include your progress so I can know better how to assist.

Stuck on the boat last week but ashore tonight…thanks to a observation from my nine year old who then sassed me appropriately.

Same! I used to do most of the WSJ puzzles and the Killer Sudoku - as well as the weekly metas here. Now I barely have time to do the Friday meta. Reading time is way down, too.

Forgot to start this one until just now, but the first thing we thought of turned out to be the right rabbit hole. This hardly ever happens! Satisfying. H wants a Raspberry Lime Rickey, and J will have a Mocha Latte with extra whipped cream!

Still on the boat. A continuing surprise (?) to me is how often when all of you are effortlessy swarming the beach I see nothing. Other times, not often but sometimes, I am on a nearly deserted beach listening to a great party in the bar on the ship, but the first case is much more common. This is one of the much more common weeks.
