Well, they don't get much easier than this.

Well, they do but that's only because I'm an idiot and made dumb mistakes and couldn't read.

I sort of don't really like the answer but that's probably because it's actually straightforward and I didn't have to look at that tatoo on my forhead.

Crowed beach. I'll have a Carribean Painkiller.

EDIT: I suppose it's not so much that it is easy as that the first thing I tried was very satisfyingly it. What I *loved* about this one is that the metanism was so naturally and elegantly applied in both the pre-hiding and in the post finding and it was very natural seeming for *all* instances. Which I guess because it was so natural it could be hard to see. But once you see it, it is a 100%er... well 100%er for what the metanism is; not what the answer is.

My Entry to the May 2024 CrossHare Midi Contest

Not a meta, but, yeesh!, that was tough to create.

Feels like the first time in a few weeks that I got there without a nudge. On the beach.

On shore moments after setting sail.
Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Ashore, and grateful to be there. The only thing better than a classic, elegant, and ingeniously constructed meta, such as the first two of 2024, is a classic, elegant, and ingeniously constructed meta that I can actually solve. What a difference a week makes!

Mikey, one of the reasons I love this site (there are many) is your cat memes. Huge fan!

It's getting crowded! I'm ashore. I thought the grid was more difficult than the meta.

I *think* I'm ashore, but would like confirmation... who's game? :-)

(Confirmed. I'm ashore. :D )

Jumping around grid while solving, the metanism revealed after six entries.
The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

Happy to be joining all the fine folks on shore.

A common question on this board is how can some people solve these so amazingly quickly. You can hear an interview with one of the super speedy solvers on this podcast:

https://outsidetheblocks.buzzsprout.com ... toroff?t=0

He shares some of his secrets, but unsurprisingly a big part of it is talent and lots and lots of practice.
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

Mooring lines over. Whiskey me, Captain.

Fun fact: solved this one literally as my ship was docking at Naval Base San Diego. Ashore in every sense.
