Ginger Cat slept all through the preparations. As long as she got her crunchies, she's fine!

---

We're a day early with a super-sized holiday meta for you! (But the deadline is the same, so you get a bonus day of solving time!) Special thanks to @oldjudge for valuable feedback - I'm thinking we're going to clock in at least at a Level 3 for this, but we could trend upward.

Larger meta means I have a larger grid option and clues in a slightly larger font on the PDF; these are for ease of solving and not meta-related.

---

75. We've Got Leftovers

The answer to the meta is a 9-letter phrase.

Deadline is Saturday, December 2 at 1 pm ET.

Good luck, and may all your solves be beautiful!

Thanks for a great post Thanksgiving treat!
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

@Meg told me earlier there might be some issues. I played around with it, so hopefully, it's good now! Or maybe just try refreshing or using another browser as well. :)

Done like a dinner! (Is that a purely Australian phrase?)
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Submission seems to be working. But not solved.

(Got an idea for metanism if this isn't it...)
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

I think we're at 16 to start, which is a solid beginning. We're going to get a couple of nudges each day (if I remember) to show my thankfulness for all of you!

They start off vague and perhaps not that helpful, sorry, haha.

1. Obviously, we have the title: the operative word here is the last word "Leftovers," as might be expected.

2. That's a pretty large grid! And if I make a large grid, there's always a reason for it - so there must be a decent amount of information to be found within.

See you tomorrow!

Two more!

3. You'll need to notice several entries (likely 9) that seem to have something in common.

4. But, actually, 4 of these entries are connected in some way and the other 5 in another way.

I'll be a bit more overt tomorrow. Worried we're in for a doozy with the MGWCC, but we'll see!

No further nudges needed, and the ones you gave were nice and vague and not spoilery. Thanks for providing this Sunday (and some Monday) diversion, especially in the absence of the MGWC!

Beg to differ (about the nudges, not the puzzle). Could definitely use a further nudge or two.

More nudges you request, more nudges you shall receive! Only 22 so far, so we might actually be at a 3.5 or so.

5. Really think of the title. Where might relevant clues to first unraveling the meta be found?

6. I toyed briefly with the title "We've Got Left-Overs," indicating there are two key locations we need to scour.

7. There are 4 key words toward the left of the grid, and 5 key words toward the upper part of the grid (i.e., "over").

8. But there are so many words toward the left and so many up top! What do you think makes them relevant? (Hint: I've done things like this before.)

See if that helps scatter the cobwebs, as we all eagerly await tomorrow's MGWCC!

Finally got it, but needed virtually all of the nudges. Had the right idea, kinda, but was applying it badly. Thanks for the puzzle, Mikey!
