Another remarkable achievement by Evan to fit so many theme elements in his grid symmetrically. Not to mention the apropos "icing on the cake" that is almost a meta answer. Quite enjoyable to complete.

Can anyone explain 145A? Director "Sir Ron" Howard was "just knighted". Ron Howard has not been knighted, so what's the answer? (Thx.)

The reflected entries were all a bit on the silly side. So yes, while Ron Howard hasn't been knighted recently, for the purposes of this clue we were supposed to pretend he had been! :D
