"Unfinished Business" September 29, 2023

This week's contest is titled "UNFINISHED BUSINESS" By Mike Shenk

The answer to this week’s contest crossword is a past tense verb.

Unfinished Business spreadsheet

A couple of notes

The Question and Answer Zoom session with Matt Gaffney is scheduled for 7:30 pm on Saturday October 28. The format will be similar to the last Q&A in June 2021 in that Matt will go through the development of a meta and then will open the zoom session for questions. We expect a lot of muggles and others similar to what we had in the first Q&A so the structure will be a little more formal than the normal zoom sessions. I will be putting out several key things over the next week or two and we will have a zoom session to help people with zoom including raising your hand electronically, changing the name on your zoom image and how to ask questions.

If you did not participate in the last Q&A, it was great for both Matt and ourselves. Matt had a couple of other nationally known meta creators on so it was great to meet them also. And it gave Matt an opportunity to put real names and faces with the screen names he sees all the time. Also do not be concerned about asking questions that might have been asked last time.

We will also be recording the Q&A and uploading it to the XWord Muggles boards for anyone to see at any time.

Second thing for those who do the MGWCC. Monday is Matt's son Tilghman's birthday so if you want to get that achievement, you have to submit on Monday October 2 and not one of the other days this weekend.

Third thing. Joe Ross creates the excel spreadsheet for the meta but he has no idea how much it gets used. If you use Joe's spreadsheet, it would help a lot if you sent him a PM to say that you use it every week or most weeks or occasionally.

Good luck with the grid and the meta.

On the beach! I'm always amused by how quickly my mood can go from somber ("this is one I'm never going to get") to excitement ("there it is!")

Now if you'll excuse me, it appears I have a great deal of unfinished business here.

Second page, so I can safely say that...

...I've got nothing, haha.

Not quite true - I have a vague idea where this might be headed, but I'll definitely need some more coffee to get me there!
