Sunday, Sunday, SUNDAY at Bird Lives Raceway!! Fun Sunday diversion Jay, enjoyed the cluing and the idea.
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

SSSolved without nudges -- Jay, such fun cluing, as always! And I believe we are continuing SSS's but rebranding them as "The Endless Summer"-- note the triple-S so we can continue using "SSSolved" and such.
Good luck, fellow Muggles!

And there was evening and there was morning, the first day, which brought 43 solvers, most of them, if not all, unnudged.
. .
No doubt, others will show up in coming days. As the man said, If you post it, they will solve.

Nice one Jay Bird!
I’ve been hooked on phonics ever since teaching 2nd grade for 9 years many moons ago.
And we all get hooked on, and into,
phonics regularly here in Muggledom.
Heard about the stag who asked young Bambi for a date?
The fawn nixed that idea…

Since Tuesday, it’s been a quiet week in this puzzle’s forum. As of Saturday night, no other solvers had checked in, leaving the total at 57.
The answer was LETTER SOUNDS. Each themer sounded like the names of two letters of the alphabet. In order of their parenthetical numbers these were:
L E . . .ELLY
T T . . .TITI
E R . . .EEYORE
S O . . .ESSO
U N . . .EWAN
D S . . .DÉESSE
. .
Thanks to all for the accurate solutions (there were no incorrect answers) and kind comments.
