A delightfully easy grid with very fun and delightful clueing.

I can't quite get a toe-hole on the meta yet though. One thing about a new constructor is one can't really use familiarity to second guess and maybe I'm psyching myself out in not really knowing what limits I should place on myself for the one rabbit hole that seems a bit broad.

But a wonderful debut.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Here are your "Wednesday nudges":

Nudge 1: There are plenty of distractions in the clues and answers. The meta is NOT "Swedish fish" - those are sweet little red herrings!

Nudge 2: As usual for meta solving, you should search the grid for common patterns. Do you find anything repeated?

Nudge 3: There is a subtle hint in one of the clues that seems to match the puzzle title. The answer might be something to take literally.

Speaking of apples, my favorite treat is apple pie, year round.
