I can't shake what I think I'm supposed to do, but it's not working, so it might not be what I need to do (the meta life in a nutshell, haha).
Less cross words, more crosswords.

I see the forest sights but don't know what to do with them.
EDIT: Took one last look before heading to bed -- and there it was. Pretty funny!

Got it! Definite confirmation when you find it.
If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

I beaat Jangler by one minute, which means he started the puzzle at least 20 minutes after I did.

Got it ... a rarity for me, of late ... and you'll know when YOU have it, too. It's a 100%-er, with a smile to join the satisfaction.

Solved! This has to be one of my favourite metas of all time!! Absolute laugh-out-loud funny AHA moment!!!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Wow, definitely one of the fastest turnarounds from "I'll never get this" to "AHA!" in recent memory :-)

Finally have it. Was stuck at step 1 for far too long, and it took a shove in the back from @HoldThatThought to get me to see the... well... the mechanism.

This is at least the third MMMM where I stare at it and stare at it and get nowhere...then pick it back up and have an epiphany immediately. Need to take that advice more often!

And, no, my initial thought was wrong. If you haven't gotten it yet, may the forest be with you!

I was coming here to say just that! (Except it was one of my favorites.) 😜
The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.
