On shore. Saw the obvious step 1 right away but got nowhere with it. Came back this afternoon, looked at it fresh, and had the answer within 10 seconds. LOL.

Cynthia and I are the proud recipients of the rare and coveted Rabbit Hole Mug!!!

While anyone can win a WSJ Mug, the Rabbit Hole Mug award faces very stiff competition!!!!

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!

So far we have 222 muggles on the shore and an empty bar on the ship.
Question for the statisticians: Has this ever happened?
The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

I have been on the boat (in the Apostle Islands and in meta land) for the last three weeks. I didn’t have much time for puzzling. Happy to be back and on shore!

Several times. The most recent was June 2, 2023 with Couples Only where we had 235 on the shore and an empty bar. What happens when everyone posts that they are on the shore for the first 24 hours, anyone who does not get the meta will either ask for help or not post.

As far as the WSJ stats go, there has been one 99% (September 16, 2016) and a few 98% weeks. I suspect that there are people who send in a WAG just in case.

When you're as big as the WSJ, you're going to have, like, some nutjob who just latches on and sends in "SIRLOIN" every week as the answer and doesn't even do the puzzles.

My Hail Mary / WAG is "Greg Kinnear."

I've learned from television programs that it staves off dementia.

Well I can tell you for a fact that this will not be a 100% one. I am the nutjob this week. I did not send in SIRLOIN but it might have been better than what I did. Mine was KNEEJERK, not the actual word, but the response certainly was. I guess I'll have to shorten it to simply JERK!

I also needed a Klingon escort, two ensigns and Scotty's special setting on the transporter to get to the MGWCC. I mean I did have a LIFELINE, but that was mine and Wendy's. Heck pretty soon I won't be able to solve the ones I make myself!
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

I've been on the ship since Thursday evening. I usually wait a day or two to report in, in case i'm successful in the solve. Got busy yesterday and forgot.
Not looking to move away from the bar based on my efforts so far.

Ashore since Thursday, but too busy to post. Enjoyed a quick one after a few weeks of missing out. Just too busy. Did I mention that already?

Ashore, cocktail now in hand.
Delayed due to the long line at the shore bar.

Ashore since Friday, but this has been a busy weekend, so a meta like this one is just what I needed.
