@Cap'n Rick - good luck with the renovations. I am just getting to the MMM and looking forward to it.

@Wendy Walker When we did something similar to set up the kitchen for my wife's baking business, the renovations came in increments of $20K!!

Couch is vacated! Fun puzzle, with a nice AHA moment!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Thanks, @Bob cruise director.

Yeah, it looks likes I'm going to have to significantly ramp up my commercial fishing effort over the next several years. I hope I'll still have time for metas! :D

I looked for this puzzle yesterday and didn't see it posted - - very odd now that I see all the Monday solvers. Not quite sure what happened. In any event, I'm OTC, although when submitting I thought I was missing the final step.

OTC! Very clever puzzle.

I could post dozens of amazing before-and-afters, designed by yours truly. It’s what I do. So gratifying to see the DIFFERENCE! (This one below was one we rehabbed about 5 years ago .. you can see more on our website - https://shankbuilding.com/whole-house-r ... s-gallery/.

Awesome website, @HeadinHome! I'm going to show it to Mrs. Cap'n in the morning. I can design a meta puzzle, but I'm pretty useless when it comes to interior design.

Wednesday Nudges

Did you happen to solve @ajk's SSS meta on Sunday ? Conspiracy theorists suspect there may have been some collusion.

The instructions for the first step to solving are actually spelled out in the grid.

@Wendy Walker initially thought that capital "A" in the title was an error.

The Irish, Welsh, and another group of people are all neighbors of the English.

Initial letters spell the meta answer, which matches the theme entries, and is a synonym for "shorten".

Off the couch. Neglected to pay attention to an obvious clue! After letting it go for a day, I finally spotted it. No nudges needed. Thanks, Cap'n Rick.

Yay, off the couch! Took that last nudge to put me on the right guide rails. Great mechanism! Hubby marvels when I explain them to him. (“How do you guys make and solve those puzzles…?”)
