This week's contest is titled "Think Different" by Matt Gaffney

The answer to this week's contest is what you might be in if you're unable to solve the puzzle (probably not what you are thinking now)

There will be no spreadsheets for WSJCCs going forward.

Tomorrow's status may be delayed as I will be tied up in the morning.

I’m doing it on paper. But I just checked electronically and they do stop.

It's worse than the clues stopping -- I can't enter anything in those boxes.

You can if you go across, but it's still tough
If I'm around, I am willing to join the Muggle Zoom room at other times to lend a hand to those in need.

Thanks! You are right, I can fill in the across and check with the pdf to see if the downs make sense. I shall proceed, full-speed ahead!

If you click Download PDF you will get the PDF. Or I did, at any rate :fingers_crossed:

FWIW I was able to download the PDF from the link a few minutes after 3 and solved the puzzle on my iPad as normal. Not the meta yet though :)

Came for a status, stayed for the Page One Encroachments. Heads (and pencils) will surely roll!

As for the meta, no clue yet.

Glad to know I'm not insane..

Well, that this alone is not the sole cause of my insanity.

EDIT: they fixed it. And now that I reload I lost all my work (and I had completed the entire grid). Still, it's better this way.

EDIT2: not entirely fixed. They forgot to put it in meta mode. To whit: you can't submit. But you can check your progress. (I actually had exactly one square wrong)

Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Thanks to DB Miller's tip, I finished the grid! I prefer online rather than paper.

Grid done - tedious but doable. Now I have to put it aside to TCB. Hope to be off the ship and on the shore at some point this weekend. :)

I knew this was going to happen. I had just cancelled my subscription to the Wall Street Journal about a week ago and I was wondering whether they would be able to make it without my continued support. LOL!
