Jangler on in 26 minutes.
One person once commented that one Jangler minute is 20 regular minutes, so that's 8 hours, 40 minutes, haha.
Crunchy grid and a crunchy mid-year meta so far! Happy solving and happy 4th!

I am miraculously on the board at #2 behind Jangler. I don't think that I've ever been this high before, the air is thin up here!
This is a case where one of my oldest strategies happened to work, despite me thinking that it was outmoded and that I should ditch it.
I agree with Mikey G that the grid was crunchy. I resorted to Google to make sure that I had it filled in correctly.

On the board surprisingly quickly after a late start - 20-ish minutes total solve time most of that (as usual) completing the grid with interwebbing help.
Maybe I can put some of that extra time I thought I'd need to solve into looking at the mega meta...

Got it.
One of those cases of: laboriously finish the grid … stare and stare and get nowhere on the meta … drift off into a nap … and awake to somehow see it.

Nothing coming up up up for me yet.
On the bright side, I may be one step closer to the mega meta as something I expected to see in the puzzle this month was there.

This is literally what happened. I'm sure this happened before, but I had such a laborious experience earlier (at least an hour). Then, I saw what I needed to, haha. Awaiting the beam!ChrisKochmanski wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 4:53 pm Got it.

I got SOMETHING right after finishing the grid, but I have 2 answers I think are equally plausible. Need to sit on this for a bit.

On the board. I’ll try to remember post deadline to elaborate on this.

Reread the meta prompt and think about it. Only one solid answer.sharkicicles wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 9:57 pm I got SOMETHING right after finishing the grid, but I have 2 answers I think are equally plausible. Need to sit on this for a bit.

Drawing a complete blank. If anyone wants to IM me a nudge, I wouldn't mind!

Would also be accepting of a nudge in the IMs if anyone is so inclined.

Assuming we’re on the same wavelength - I agree that there are two plausible answers but one seems to relate more to the title phrase. But I don’t think the second one is completely off. It’d be interesting if Pete accepted either one.ky-mike wrote: ↑Tue Jul 04, 2023 11:28 pmReread the meta prompt and think about it.
