Thanks for the puzzle!
I definitely need help getting off the couch. Eagerly awaiting the nudges!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

I see the first step, 100%, but I'm trying to think what to do from there. I'll "park" myself on the couch for a while!

Edit: Literally, as soon as I posted that, I saw what I needed, haha. This was really good - well-constructed!

Off the couch and into the desk chair. Boooooo.

Enjoyed the puzzle! Comments on Crosshare. You who are stuck, 63A!!

Also, my last name is in the grid… a homophone with a certain crossword constructor’s last name.
The other Wendy.

I've also got a solid step one but nothing yet beyond that. Maybe the post-enlightenment magic will work for me too
If you want help with a meta, feel free to PM me. The more specific you are about what you have and what you want, the more likely I can help without spoiling.

(And if I help you win a mug, I’ll be especially delighted.)

A slight nudge from @KayW - mostly telling me all the wrong things I was doing.

And following Kay, you can call me Jeffie for all the wanderings that I did over the past 24+ hours

Off the couch waiting confirmation

and perhaps a spoiler but RTFP

Think I have the answer and am off the couch. Had one little issue but I think I have that resolved now.

Okay, Nudge Wednesday:

Ultimate can mean “end”, as in where to look

States can mean, well, states. And they are in the ultimate places.

There are 8 “states” in the themers; the meta answer is 8-letters.

How might you turn 2-letter states into 3-letter words?

What letters did you add to turn them into 3-letter words (and how did you know to add those specific letters)?
