Ashore for more beer,
I’m crazy for a hazy,
But don’t let me steer!
One world. One planet. One future.

Well, I have the first step...and maybe the second step...but the third (?) [whatever] is eluding me.
Or maybe I don't have the first step right.
Or maybe I only *think* I don't have the first step right, but I actually do.
Or maybe I should just hit myself in the head with a hammer.
...it's one of those, for sure. Or not.

Pretty sure I see the mechanism; just need to take a minute to look at the puzzle, which is something I haven't done in a while. It's hard to get anything done while lugging around a 5 mo old.

First a warm welcome to our two newest muggles - Tcassutt and Craven_Mug_Craver. Welcome to the clan and if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Second - my sympathies to any parents or grandparents in New England who are suffering through outdoor graduations this weekend. We got to the Framingham (that is right next to the famous town of Natick for crossword puzzle solvers) football stadium just as it started to rain and thunder. We cowered under the stands for an hour until they postponed the graduation to Sunday. Forecast for all day Sunday - 50 or 51 degrees, drizzle or light rain and just enough wind to make it miserable. Does this count as cruel and unusual punishment for grandparents?

On a better note, we have 215 muggles on the shore so Isaac continues to send supplies to the sunny warm beach. The record by the way is 290.

On shore are...

and I was wondering if anyone went through the entire list above.

Good luck winning the mug.
Bob,

Condolences on winter weather for graduation. Yes, it *is* cruel and unusual punishment. At least it wasn't in Natick.

Been a *cough* couple *cough* weeks since I solved one, but I'm back on shore today.

Would love to win a mug for solving. Chances of that are so slim I’d rather save luck like that for a lottery ticket.
So for my birthday in August (or the 42nd wedding anniversary this month), does anybody know where I can ask hubby to get a mug made that says something like “Muggle meta solver” or words to that effect?

Changed my avatar. No, I didn't win a mug. I made myself a virtual mug with AI. Best I can do, until the coveted day.

On shore! Fun one.

On weeks when we have some extra time we sometimes go back to try some older puzzles where we were lost at sea and have not looked at the answer yet. This weekend we revisited 12/23/22 Jolly Old St Nick which had stumped us. Now 6 months later it came to us fairly quickly! I don’t think we ever could have solved it then but experience and practice helps. Two years in now and enjoying it more every week.

Ashore, but not a quick trip. Been working on it on and off since Thursday afternoon. Finally feel i have a solid answer. And i'm sticking with it.
As easy as it was for some, not others. As they say: courses for horses. This was not a runaway, for me.

Good morning muggles

The progression to shore has slowed but we have a very crowded shore with 225 muggles there clamoring to get a drink at the tiki bar.

New to the shore since yesterday are

Colin
Barbara K (who was there but I was so intent on staring at the dessert picture in her post at #135 that I missed her ordering one from the cabana boy.)
Ben B and son
BensMom
Jarrod
Olof
Commodore
Flamel616
Drew and Kasia
TheCatt
Diane

And if you get bored check out @Abide's SSS "Life Begins At Sixty" under Other Meta Puzzles.

[You could do it through Tervis and it would be suitable for your libation as opposed to coffee! More fitting!]

I think I'm on the correct island. Got the last three letters of the four letter word, just not sure about the first letter. Maybe I better paddle around for a bit longer.
