We watched as it came lower and lower and just made it past our woods. Chaser truck was there in a minute to help.

@Cap'n Rick

Great meta. @MaineMarge and I enjoyed solving it. This morning I explained the mechanism to her and she was in awe that anyone could think of such a cool and tight idea and then implement it.

Thanks

Thought I had it. Found a perfect solution and jumped off the couch. But it was incorrect. Oh well. I really enjoyed the puzzle anyway

You had half of the perfect solution, @minimuggle. Just sent you a PM.

Off the couch.... I misread the instructions. When I saw "there are two answers". I figured I could just submit one. I tried both of them but not together. Thanks to Cap'n Rick for setting me straight. Finally got the "Correct" answer.

Thanks, @minimuggle. Yes, I'd like solvers to submit both answers either via Crosshare or PM.

Thank you!

Ok, finally OTC. Had the right track early on, but was misapplying the metanism. Great meta as usual!

Wednesday Nudges

While watching a plane flying over that beach in Aruba, I was nearly conked on the head by a falling coconut. ;)

Does everyone know the difference between "palindromes" and "semordnilaps"?

Seven symmetrically-placed semordnilaps are rising up around the grid.

According to the laws of "meta"-physics, what goes up must come "Down" somewhere else in the grid.

The first letters of those seven "Down" entries (which happen to have matching clues) spell one of the meta answers. By now I'm sure you can figure out the second answer.

As is the case in some movies, the STAR is not the HERO in this meta. Look for another matching clue.

I had to be nudged off the couch, but finally got there. I had the first step, but did not know what to do with the words I had.

Figured out the meta on Monday. Now to just figure out the first nudge...
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Finally OTC with the hints. I wasn't getting the second step, but I should have thought of that. Nice puzzle!
