"What Goes Up..."
Ahoy Muggles!
I hope you all have a nice relaxing Memorial Day today. Speaking of relaxing, I got the inspiration for this puzzle while relaxing on a beach in Aruba this past winter. It seems you just never know when or where a good meta idea will pop up. And I hate to admit this, but I could hardly wait until we got back and I could crank up Crosshare Constructor and create the grid. (I know, kinda sad, right? ) I'd like to thank @Abide, @Al Sisti, @boharr, @whimsy, @MarkWoychick, and @Joe Ross for pretesting and technical help.
*There are two meta answers - each 7 letters - and I'd like you to submit both. The first is something I hope this meta does; the second is something I hope this meta will not be.
"What Goes Up" - Crosshare*
"What Goes Up" - PUZ
"What Goes Up" - PDF
"What Goes Up" - Spreadsheet
Difficulty:
This one is like a gentle ripple on the lagoon at Flamingo Beach.
Nudges are here.
Solution is here.
Good luck!
Cap'n Rick
PS - Congratulations to @Wendy Walker on her outstanding (and also vacation-inspired!) MMM debut last week. Welcome to the constructor club, Wendy!
*Note: You can check both answers to "What Goes Up..." simultaneously on Crosshare. The order of the two 7-letter words does not matter.

Off the couch. That was very cool!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Off the couch, and just in time!
Another fun and well-constructed meta, Rick. Thanks!

The Captain never disappoints! Tight fill, great mechanism and a lovely cover pic…now I wanna go ballooning! (And there are those who already say I am full of hot air!)
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

Off the couch.
Said the puzzle-constucting grand pooh-bah,
“For good meta ideas indubi-
Tably I must vacation
Where Rick found inspiration.”
And he grabbed the next flight to Aruba.
[The rhymes are not original. I cribbed them from John Updike.]

Fun stuff, thanks. I don't pretend to know anything about the mechanics of construction, but it seems to me like this one would be hard to execute so smoothly.
Check out this very cool project by many of your favorite muggles to raise money to fight cancer. You get a fun puzzle bundle and good causes get $. Win-win: Crosswords for Cancer

Are we supposed to submit both?
The meta seems to be exactly what I thought it might be. But I'm in a car with no paper and can't concentrate enough to solve.
Excellent metanism if it is what I assume it is.

Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Solved but enjoying this couch too much to vacate.
What a perfectly delightful puzzle! Just the level of challenge I wanted for a relaxing holiday. I had a feeling where this one would lead, and got confirmations as I filled the grid. But you made us work to track it down!
I don’t remember this mech being used before, which is surprising as it feels like a classic. Kudos!

The other Wendy.
