"Do I Have To Spell It Out For You?"

Good morning Muggles!

This week’s meta is called “Do I Have to Spell it Out For You?” and I’m giving it a week 2.2 difficulty rating. Please submit your answer on Crosshare, or PM me your solution by 10 PM on Saturday, and as has become the custom, I’ll post a couple snapshots of a leaderboard during the week. Feel free to PM me for nudges, but try to stick with it for a couple days first. If nothing else, there’s always Nudge Wednesday.

One correct solver will be chosen at random and will receive an item of his/her choice from my swag bag (a Blarney Rebel Band CD, a Utica Club keepsake, or a $15 donation to a charity of your choice).

Al's leaderboard seems to be mirroring Matt's.

At six hours into the puzzle with no visible reports of success on the board, yeah, you may have to. It is Monday, after all! :(

I mean, at least I solved the grid!

Yep, seems I may have mis-rated the difficulty. Let's change it to a Week twopointtwo difficulty.

Wasn't that the original rating? But you did spell it out for us.

Maybe that was an early hint?!

Not yet, but Al Sisti liked my comment. So, there’s that.

And in related news, I am changing next Monday's MMM difficulty rating from 3.0 to 0.5. :D

...definitely a hint...

I feel better about not getting this one, yet. Twelve hours and only 9 posts. It must not be just me. I just had to check in with these pictures.

Couch is vacated! Thanks for a cool puzzle, Al.
(Slight course correction required, though.)

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Any puzzle with a Ginger Cat cameo is a good one in my book!

Well-constructed puzzle, thanks! Off the couch but back I go for a nap.

This is a blatant spoiler but since the answer was easily obtainable, I had to post this as a sop for those of us who are older and this we can remember
