Hi all and welcome to the 125th installment of the MEOW!

Many thanks to Tom for his two blockbusters in a row.

The answer to this meta is a metaphysician. No not that one.

Good luck!

Hmmm, not confident, but I have submitted an answer...

... and the cat is free! Thanks for the puzzle, @madhatter5! (I definitely don't see myself as 34 across :D )
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Metaphysically, the cat is AND is not out... which also means this is AND is not a spoiler -- Just playing with you!... Funny, not funny.

I hate the crossword.info app. Works horribly on my iPhone. Submitted an answer though

Edit: Crossed the moat. Is that the right metaphor for this board? Freed the cat.

I am very sorry I realize the app has its limitations.

Submitted an answer that made ME laugh (it doesn't take much). Let's see what "the creator" thinks...

EDIT: confirmed.

Well, I'm not a fan of the app either but... hey, I'm being given entertainment for free so....

Anyhoo.... what a grid! Amirite? Can't believe I got through it with no reveals! I'll take that as a solution and say I'm done.

Oh... I have to actually solve a meta? And get confirmation? ... Okay, I'm working on it.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

The cat is out of the bag!

I had all of the pieces but did not know what to do with them. Something I tried earlier did not work. But then it did once I got direction.

I do METAs and have a PHYSICS minor. Or do i just think those things are true? And why don't they matter here?

Awaiting confirmation, but I think the metaphysician's cat is out of the box. I needed a reminder to take a closer look at something I had at first glance found of no use.

Damn near suffocated the cat, but he's limped on out. Enjoyed the challenging grid fill and head-scratching meta, Josh!

Cat here is still suffocating, as well as being completely in the dark.

Got all the pieces on wednesday. Knew and know I have all the pieces. I know I need to take a closer look at them.

.....but I just can't see it.

Nudges!

(as with many of my recent metas it seems) you will not be extracting the answer letter by letter.

there may be many metaphysians but really less than a dozen of them are particularly important. Look at a list and you will surely see the answer on it

and this is probably too obvious but there is a pattern among the themers

So..... No nudges then? Oh well.
