Off the couch! Thanks for the mental workout, Jay.

1st edit: Oops! I'm still on the couch. Time to fire up the old brain pipes again...

2nd edit: The couch is vacated! My 13 down found the end zone!!

Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Agree - got a chuckle out of it.
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

I see a soft step 1 but nothing else major yet. Let's see what happens!

I really liked this. I suspected one think right away but wasn't sure what to do with it. It took me longer to see the obvious but then it was a very satisfying blend. A really nice puzzle.
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

Despite looking at this several times over the course of the day I am currently nowhere. :)

Hopefully inspiration will strike tomorrow.

Took longer than it shoulda because of my lack of familiarity with… something… and because of some distractions. Enjoyed, and no more couch for me.
The other Wendy.

Can now switch my brain over to continue noodling MGWCC. Sticking with downs-only, no-instructions……….for now anyway
I think this one might be difficult without instructions, and not in any rewarding way.
Thank you for that

This one did not open with blockbuster business. After last week’s pic, the producers were hoping it would be boffo at the B.O. It was OK with the crix, but the huge auds were elsewhere. Thirty-nine solvers showed up.

Better than arthouse numbers, but maybe word-of-mouth and tomorrow’s nudges will turn this one around.

This one was honestly great....taking various elements common to metas and fusing them together in interesting ways. Bravo!

OK, guess I'm officially waiting for nudges. Note that my absence from this evening's Zoom is because I'm giving an exam, not because I'm embarrassed to show my face and admit that I have no clue on this one.

Since yesterday, another nine solvers have left their respective couches.

40. LesY
41. Bob cruise director
42. Jaclyn
43. PuzNewbie
44. Richard
45. Laura M
46. Deb W
47. mkmf
48. Darrell

Maybe the nudges will draw in a few more.

The six themers are symmetrically placed.

Only one of the words in each themer is important.

As the title suggests, these words relate to an alphabet.

As the title suggests, these words relate to numbers.

Anybody who has done more than a couple of crossword will find both the alphabetical part and the numerical part to be familiar gimmicks.

As the prompt indicates, they are in sequential order.

As the prompt indicates, the sequence is deficient to the tune of one. That’s the one that you supply, and in a form that makes it parallel with the other six.

I’m not saying whether that sequence is alphabetical or numerical. So this is not really a nudge. More like an annoyance. But hey, you’ve already got seven nudges. Enough is enough.

This is better than I thought. I got off the couch, but I see from the nudges that I missed half of the alphanumeric part that would have made it WAY more 100%. I had to come in today to see the nudges so I could see what I missed.
Nice puzzle and meta!
