They can't all be MMMs.
The site is just a web page, a meeting place, a clubhouse - it's the group that's special.

The Rabbit shouldn't have been complaining about the dearth of storied holes the past few weeks. This week has the potential for a gross, or more.
Me thinks the Rabbit should start pre-drinking to get ready for the plethora of stories.

On the beach but I wish it were a bit warmer!

I'd love a camp fire and a cup of something hot...

Cheers everyone!

Still on the boat. Movies are my one of my things and that could be a disadvantage here - I'll be overthinking this!

Right there with you! Well, not going to Charleston, but definitely with Team Isaac for the time being.

Ashore!
Great puzzle Mike, loved it.
It left me with a powerful, overwhelming desire to chew some scenery.
Now, how should I transmit that feeling that's somewhere between D-28 and deja vu?

You have to give her a little room to swing a cat. She's so cute when she does.

So many rabbit holes, so little time. Not feeling great about this one after the comments so far.

On reflection: I'm not missing anything.

I agree with Joe. On that note: I think we can all agree that "Shenkian" rolls off the tongue better than "Shenk-esque".

We have am embarrassment of riches with the (free) WSJ metas, so I'm happy to be on shore.

Oddly, when I first opened up the puzzle I saw Shenk's name in there twice (like I do about every other week) and had the idle thought "if a person writing something is also its editor, has that thing really been "edited"?" Then when I finished, I was all "yeah, that one could have used a 2nd set of eyes on it."

Speaking of movies, this one's maybe more of a Mike Schank than a Mike Shenk. :)

I'll confess to being one of probably many reasons we're still on page 3:

"Ahoy, Isaac!"

I.e., still in the ship staring cluelessly at a pattern-free grid.

My spirit sank when I saw this week's hint. Movies are one of the many gaping holes in my store of knowledge, so I may be psychologically self-impaired here, not expecting to see something familiar and so not seeing it. I'll be calling The Smarter Half tomorrow.
For nudges, feel free to PM me. I won't have a clue how to help you, but you might shove me ashore.

I think I'm on shore? I'm submitting regardless but would love to run the answer by another kind Muggle.

Edit: Thanks to a kind Muggle for confirming. It seems I am, indeed, on the correct shore!

One ship drives east and another drives west,
While the self same breezes blow;
'Tis the set of the sails and not the gales,
That tells us the way to go.

Like the winds of the sea are the winds of fate.
As we voyage through life
'Tis the set of the soul that decides its goal,
Not the calm or the strife.

We are always happy to get to know other muggles and help in any way! PM's are always welcome. The next best thing to winning a mug is helping a fellow muggle win a mug!

Yeah - I’ve hacked away at the zillion possible paths of this (so much content!) but given that we are on vacation and enjoying the sunny 80-degree weather here north of Sarasota, I will likely just put this aside. My buddies might resent me pulling away for a zoom meeting today. ( :
