Pretty sure there's an error in the current pdf. Let's see if / when it gets corrected.

Oh, if anyone knows how to contact them, tell them the middle grid should have MAR where it has MSR?

It’s been reported. According to the comments in the Times “Gameplay” column about the puzzle, the columnist, Caitlin Lovinger, has reported the typo.
