Big Trouble
It’s good to see everyone up bright and early, having turned the clocks back just yesterday — in the US, I mean. Other places in the world stopped saving daylight weeks ago. You will not need to spend that extra hour pondering this week’s MMM. As far as I know, the MMM does not have the equivalent of MEOW’s feline hierarchy. But if we did have gradations of couches ranging up to the Roche-Bobois 8-piece sectional, today’s puzzle would be the two-seater Glostad — $149 at Ikea.
The answer is a well-known story.
And I do mean well-known. This is not Sam the Sham. (The response to my previous puzzle revealed that there were some people on the planet who were not familiar with that legendary musician.) Today’s puzzle avoids any of those less brightly lit alleys of culture. Believe me, you’ve heard of this one.

Great Monday puzzle Jay - thanks!!
By the way, I looked up the building on Wikipedia and they, inadvertently I am sure, left you off the "Notable Residents" section. Perhaps they will let me edit that section? Oh, and I've been adding the E forever, sorry about that.
Tom
Hopefully we can get it to read:
Notable residents
• ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, son and chosen successor of Bahá’u’lláh, the founder of the Bahá’í Faith[1]
• Italian baritone Giuseppe Danise
• Operatic Soprano Teresa Stratas
• Fashion photographer Deborah Turbeville
• Lauritz Melchior (Metropolitan Opera tenor who practiced archery in the 110-foot (34 m) corridors)
• Lily Pons
• Martin Charles Ansorge (1882–1967), United States Representative from New York[3]
• Stage actor James T. Powers
• Babe Ruth
• Vincent La Selva, conductor and founder of the New York Grand Opera
• Clemens Weiss, German Artist
• Jay Livingston, Crossword constructor and bon vivant (known to decorate the corridors with partially constructed grids)
