(Yes, I'm venting from seeing him associated with ambient music and production credits in crosswords for the past several decades and never getting rightfully acknowledged for his rock albums...)

Darn this IKEA store is crowded now that everyone has left the couch! I had a tough time solving due to an error in my education/background. Once explained it was smooth sailing through another excellent MMM puzzle.

T
NUDGES!I am always willing to give nudges where needed; metas should be about fun, not frustration. Send me what you have done so far because often you are closer than you think!

I, for one, don't see it yet. Eagerly awaiting the nudges!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Good morning, MMM Muggles!
Joining the solvers' list since yesterday morning are:
30. Team Double Tow
31. DPlass
32. Darth
33. DIS
34. Qmark
35. Schmeel
36. Whimsy
37. MiniMuggle
38. SJMcK
39. Cindy H
40. DameFox
41. Dr. Tom
42. Dow Jones
43. RJY
44. dpl11
45. JHSeeman
Thank you all for solving! And please keep letting us know which clue for 68A was helpful to you. So far Cap'n Rick's clue is winning by a nautical mile.
Now here are the eagerly awaited nudges:
Who knew?! A kangaroo word, as hinted at by 75A, is a thing! In keeping with our puzzle's "pocket" theme, a kangaroo word is one that contains within it another word or words (the "joeys") that have much the same meaning as the whole word. The letters of the joey are in the correct order but they are not necessarily contiguous.

What might be the kangaroo words in the grid? What might be the length of the joeys?

Use this mechanism to derive the 8-letter part of the meta answer. And then treat that answer as a kangaroo word to find a 4-letter joey that is also associated with a pocket.

Ready for the WSJ tomorrow!

Same here. The nudges confirmed what I saw and helped me realize I had overlooked one *. Fun meta! Thanks!

Off the couch, but only with nudges, nudges and more nudges. Turns out, I was missing a really important thing (insert head slap emoji here).

I finally solved with the nudges, although they really didn't tell me anything that didn't already know or suspect.

One confusing part was that the 8 letters I had were 2 words but all the other examples are a single word. The other was it doesn't follow the theme of the puzzle. I should have focused on the instructions; had I done that, maybe I would have solved.

Merriam-Webster shows a hyphenated eight letter word.

I didnt need the nudges, but some very remedial 'rithmetic (thank you @Wendy Walker )

Apparently I can't count that high on my own. No wonder my bridge partners yell at me.

Fun meta - well done!
