Your mind was On Some Faraway Beach, wasn't it?
Bruised state of 🧠 has me earworming this & passing it along:

I see that the Stones' 1978 Some Girls album won NME Award for "Best Dressed Sleeve"

Got it with the nudges. Nice one!
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Got it with the nudges! I had the first step but just didn’t stick with it or maybe thought I was on the wrong path.

Lol I have experienced a new form of meta torture today.

Looked at the first nudge first thing this morning and immediately lol'd because I had done <the thing to do> on one of the starred entries yesterday, and then tried it on the others but not been persistent enough.

In an impressive demonstration of how being told it's the right path can focus one's efforts, I looked again and immediately got a couple more.

But then had to attend to work stuff and spent the next 7 hours running around with not a moment to spare between meetings/teaching/misc (metaphorical) fire extinguishing, all the while knowing that I just had to do a few more minutes worth of work to solve. Very frustrating.

Sure enough, when I got back to it just now it only took about 5 or 10 minutes. Very fun puzzle, thanks much @Abide @Cap'n Rick and @Wendy Walker !

Great collaboration, you three! Thanks so much! I had the answer but needed those nudges to be sure.

And, sorry guys, but I am on Team Wendy. :)

Four, unless I was already counted in the three.
However, given that I can't come up with an alternate that *would* have helped me, it's not obvious my vote should count.

Came at this from the wrong direction. Once I got on the right track, it came to me! If only the same were true for the Friday meta😢

Cheers, all.

This thread is all sorts of amazing.

Will try to get off the couch with nudges, most likely, tomorrow!

Finally got to the answer. What an AHA!
The “stuff” I have learned since coming to muggledom is amazing.
While hubby doesn’t do the puzzles, he always buzzes around me while I work on them.
We both marveled at this week’s submission. Elegant!

Well, one of my words was written in the wrong order, so now I feel like the silliest goose that ever sillied.

Fantastic puzzle! Loved it!

Off the couch at the eleventh hour. But not really, because I’m actually on the couch switching back and forth between the series and college football. And of course, on the east coast, it’s actually the ninth hour. I struggled, missed some key info, even with nudges, but finally got the solve. Glad to join the multitude in praising and thanking the constructors.
