Off the couch -- the second nudge opened my eyes, finally. Didn't need the final 3, but it was nice to have the confirmation. Cute puzzle -- brings back a lot of memories.

I continue my cold streak. Needed the first two nudges to find what should have been an obvious one for me.

When I hear stay tuned, I have two memories. "Now, how much would you pay?!" and "Same bat time, same bat channel"

Thanks to Cap'n Rick for the chuckles along the way.

Loved this one for more reasons than a great construction.
I met him in the late 70's.

I was no doubt aided by the good folks over at Crosshare who had "Stay Tuned!" on their "Top puzzles this week" list (see below). What a great constructing program, and what an awesome community Crosshare is! I'm so glad that @AnswerPfinder recommended them a couple of years ago!

I looked earlier for 30 minutes. Nothing.

Looked at it again. Got the steps right away.

This is why I love metas. Great puzzle too!!

PS: As you can see, @Cap'n Rick, mine was equally loved.

Didn't start this until this afternoon because of the MMMM. Still haven't cracked that, but all the good recommendations for this one said not to miss it.

Add another off the couch. Great puzzle!!

Mel Blanc.jpg

The meta answer is "Mel Blanc" - "The Man of a Thousand Voices" - known for his Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, and numerous other characters' voices from the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons released between the 1930s - 1960s.

To solve this meta you first needed to find the four Looney Tunes characters whose names straddled two consecutive clues. (Get it? You had to "stay tuned" from the end of one clue to the beginning of the next.) Those characters were Daffy Duck, Petunia Pig, Road Runner, and Yosemite Sam. The first letters of the grid entries whose clues contained the characters' names spell the meta answer.

Finally, as an added hint, I inserted the famous Looney Tunes sign-off - "That's All Folks!" - in the center of the grid.

Thats All Folks2.jpg

And that's a good way to end this write-up.

Thanks for solving, everyone!
Cap'n Rick

PS - I almost forgot to thank our resident flower expert - "@MaineMarge" - for help with the cluing of LANTANA. It was a bit of a stretch, but I really needed to tie it to Petunia somehow. :D
