Ah, to be young again
But youngjudge doesn't sound right.
Very true. At this point I think the only “judge” that sounds good is Aaron Judge.

I did this quickly and do not fully understand it. I must have done something right because at #157 on the board is a name very similar to mine. I'll have to parse and reparse the title and themers and hunt for an Easter egg or two. Or if you just want to PM me with the explanation, fire away.

I see the answer, and some extra answer 🧐

Will submit but will wait to be enlightened about why i seem to have leftovers. well, one leftover.

(update: on the board; still wondering about that extra piece)

Waiting for someone to beam me up. Nice puzzle. Feels good to actually solve something just at the moment. (WSJ and MEOW, I'm looking at you!)
Check out "The MOAT MEOW Mashup Pack" here. US$10 for 14 metas that don't always abide by the "rules" of the game: asymmetry, 2-letter words, uncrossed letters, who knows. And this time there's a mega-meta!

Submitted, but not confirmed. I included a note that suggested a possible other answer. We'll see which way the wind is blowing. Now I'm gonna give the WSJ another look. Spent about 10 minutes on it yesterday and couldn't make heads or tails of it.

Update: I picked the right one. Still no clue on WSJ

Happy to give nudges. If you notice I've solved, please tell me about avenues you've explored so I can nudge you in the right direction and not off a cliff.

Got to it eight hours late. The grid was tough I thought. I'm embarrassed that I didn't see it right away. But when I saw it I realized I was embarrassed I didn't see it right away.

(Noting doing too great on two others this week that should be easy.)
Funny story. I was all set to enter Par for the course for the CrossHare midi contest for April but I mistakenly thought midi meant 7x 7 and not 11 x 11. Oops. Well.... Here's a complex but **small** meta on the subject of golf.

I was out all day but solved this on my phone. I didn't submit right away due to the comments about an alternative answer. Came home and printed it up but was only able to see the answer I wound up submitting. Beam me up! Seemed like an easy Week 1. I'm still mystified about why, at this point, there have been 16 incorrect submissions.

I did the same. I hope I picked wisely, as well.

I have a theory regarding the 18 (currently) incorrect answers. In fact, I used that theory to decide which answer to submit. Fingers crossed!

EDIT: I picked the right one! OR Matt accepted my explanation. We will see.

Lower left corner (!) tells you that an obviously appropriate answer isn't correct. No offense to the maestro, but that's bollocks.

Hmmmmm

We’ll see; I may have guessed wrong.

Went with the obvious with one question mark dangling

Could be fatal error

Answer right; looked at the puzzle wrong and had missed part of the cleverness.

Would rate as a week one, though, which is NOT a complaint!
